King Receives American Investors and City Bank Group

His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Sunday a delegation representing City Bank group and the U.S. Overseas Private Investment Foundation led by City Bank Deputy Board Chairman Anthoni Nilsson.



Talks during the meeting focused on the U.S. foundation's contribution to back major development projects to be carried out in Jordan in the coming few years.



The King affirmed the importance of the local and foreign private sector's role in supporting economic development and financing great project.



Nelson briefed the King on the areas where national economy can benefit most through long term financial guarantees offered by the foundation and can withhold political and economic risks. Such guarantees could amount to $400 million to encourage foreign investment in various infrastructure projects in the Kingdom.



During the meeting, which was attended by Ministers of Royal Court and of Planning, Nelson noted the inviting economic ambiance in Jordan in the wake of the favourable legislation and the economic performance which has proved to be much stronger in face of regional and international instability.
