King Presents King Abdullah Award for Excellence

His Majesty King Abdullah II, and in presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania, on Tuesday presented King Abdullah Award for Excellence to winners from the Dubai, Palestine and Morocco.

During a special function held a Al-Hussein Cultural Center, King Abdullah presented the award of the "Arab Town and Its Issues" to Director General of Dubai Municipality, and the award of Literature and Arts was divided between two Arab playwrights, from Palestine and Morocco. The third award on the field of science was withheld this year as none of competing works was worthy of the prize.

The prize awarded every two years was launched by His Majesty King Abdullah to encourage creative thinking and excellent work in the Arab world. The award is divided into three fields the Arab city and its issues, arts and literature and science.

The award consists of a certificate, a gold coin and $25,000 for each field.
