His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday held a dinner banquet at Madareb Bani Hashem, the Royal Hashemite Court, for guests from across the Kingdom, on the occasion of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II’s wedding.

King Abdullah welcomed the guests to the dinner banquet, attended by His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal and Royal family members, saying that Madareb Bani Hashem are the home of all Jordanians and thanking them for sharing in the joy.

His Majesty said the joy of celebrating Al Hussein is complete with the presence of all the invitees, recalling the birth of Crown Prince Al Hussein 28 years ago.

The King expressed pride in the Crown Prince, commending his determination and ambition for his nation, and his love and dedication to his people.

His Majesty prayed for His Royal Highness’ success, thanking the guests and all Jordanians for sharing in the celebration.

The King presented His Royal Highness with a custom handmade sword specially made for the occasion.

An exact replica of His Majesty King Abdullah I’s sword, which was originally forged in Al Hijaz in 1916, this sword was made from iron extracted from the stones surrounding Ajloun Castle.

Upon the Crown Prince’s arrival at Madareb Bani Hashem, his brothers in arms from the 2nd Royal Armoured Battalion and the 1st Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II Royal Mechanised Battalion welcomed him with a Zaffeh—a lively musical procession.

The Kafar Jayez Band also participated in the Zaffeh to add a distinctive cultural touch.

The festivities also included performances by the Silent Infantry, a military drill team that performs precision movements and marching while armed with Mark 1 firearms, requiring a high-level of focus and skill.

The celebration featured performances by various Jordanian folk troupes and artists, as well as the Jordan Armed Forces Musical Band, in addition to a poetry performance.

A poetry wall, featuring an excerpt from a poem glorifying Jordan, was prominent at the event.

Written by the late Jordanian poet and literary icon Habib Al Zeyoudi, the verses on display featured pledges of eternal love for the country and wishes for its continued wellbeing and safety.

Senior officials and officers, leading figures from Jordanian society, representatives of political parties, civil society, media, and youth organisations attended the dinner banquet.
