Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania on Thursday returned home following a state visit to Sweden Where they met with King Gustaf and Queen Sylvia.



During the three-day visit, His Majesty held talks with Swedish Prime Minister Joran Person and Swedish Speaker of Parliament Von Saydo.



The King's talks focused on development of cooperation between Jordan and Sweden in numerous fields, particularly the economic, in addition to the development of situations in the Middle East.



During his talks with Swedish Prime Minister, His Majesty reviewed investment opportunities in Jordan for Swedish investors. He pointed out that the Jordanian European partnership agreement supports the private sector in Jordan and Sweden for joint ventures.



The King reviewed also the deteriorating situation in the region due to the escalation and increasing violence.



He affirmed that the Palestinian issue is the core of conflict in the Middle East, and that security, stability and progress can not be achieved without achieving a just solution that would put an end to Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and lead to establishment of an independent Palestinian state.



His Majesty affirmed that the international community has an opportunity to solve the Arab Israeli conflict through supporting the roadmap and encouraging the two sides, Palestinians and Israelis, to immediately resume negotiations.



The King's talks with Swedish Prime Minister focused on the situations in Iraq and the international community's role in contribution to reconstruct it.



His Majesty held talks also with speaker of the Swedish parliament that focused on development of parliamentary and cultural cooperation and further cementing relations between the two countries' parliaments.



Addressing the Swedish Institute for International Affairs, His Majesty affirmed that events have shown to the developed and developing countries alike that we do not live in isolation, but we live joint future and destiny.



The peoples of the Middle East are seeking a new hope, that is full of prosperity and peace, and we have to work together to realize the promise of the twenty first century of freedom and openness, His Majesty said.



Seeking to attract Swedish investments to Jordan, His Majesty met with members of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce that includes numerous board heads of companies.



His Majesty pointed out that Jordan is now a major gate for world firms interested in investment in the Iraqi market.



His Majesty visited also the Islamic Center in Stockholm and hailed the Arab and Islamic community's efforts to clarify the positive image of Islam.
