Amman

His Majesty King Abdullah II received today a phone call from Palestinian President Yasser Arafat during which they discussed the steps needed to put the peace negotiations back on track particularly after the agreement on the formation of the Palestinian Government lead by Mahmoud Abbas, Abu Mazen.

During the phone call, His Majesty pointed out that the formation of the Palestinian government would pave the way for the implementation of the roadmap, which calls for a peaceful settlement to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

President Arafat valued the efforts of His Majesty with the international community to re-launch the peace process, which would lead to the withdrawal of Israel from Palestinian territories and the establishment of the Palestinian State in the year 2005 in accordance with the roadmap.
