His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday said Jordan is keen on taking part in an Arab conference late next month to help Sudan address the humanitarian crisis in Darfur.
A letter from Sudanese President Omar Bashir, delivered by his adviser Mustafa Osman Ismail to the King, invited Jordanian public and civil institutions that are active in humanitarian fields effectively to participate in an Arab conference, to be held in Khartoum at the end of October, to help address the humanitarian situation in Darfur.
The King said Jordan is ready to extend all necessary support to the Sudanese people.
During the meeting with Ismail, the King said Jordan is keen to develop ties between Amman and Khartoum in various fields.
The Sudanese official briefed King Abdullah on the latest developments in his country and efforts to achieve national reconciliation.
In the message, the Sudanese president voiced appreciation for Jordan's support.
