King Receives Kuwaiti State Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah II received on Sunday the Kuwaiti State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Sabah Alsalim Al Sabah currently on a visit to the Kingdom to promote cooperation and coordination between Jordan and Kuwait.

His Majesty expressed satisfaction over the distinguished level of Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties. He highly valued the supportive position of the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah to Jordan and its economic programs.

During the meeting which was attended by Royal Court chief, the foreign minister and the Kuwait ambassador in Amman, King Abdullah affirmed Jordan's keenness to develop cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic and security fields. " The current situation in the region requires a continuous coordination between the two countries on the highest levels," His Majesty said.

The Kuwaiti minister who conveyed to His Majesty greetings of the Kuwaiti Emir and Crown Prince, expressed appreciation of the Kuwaiti leadership and people to King Abdullah's supportive stands to Kuwait's causes and its just demands.

During the visit of the Kuwait minister, an announcement will be made to establish a Joint Jordanian-Kuwaiti Higher Committee chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries to follow up and activate bilateral cooperation in the economic, cultural and political fields.

"Kuwait supports His Majesty's steps to improve the economic performance and it backs the socio-economic transformation program being carried out by the government under directives by His Majesty," Al Sabah added. He said that he will discuss with Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher issues pertaining to the financing of developmental projects in the kingdom by the Kuwait Fund for Development, indicating that a delegation from the fund will visit Jordan soon to discuss this issue.
