King receives former president of Kurdistan Region in Iraq

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday at Al Husseiniya Palace received the former president of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq, and leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Masoud Barzani, who is in Jordan for a visit.

The meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, covered the strong ties between Jordan and Iraq and means to improve cooperation between Jordan and the Kurdistan Region in various fields.

King Abdullah also affirmed Jordan’s support for Iraq’s security and stability, and that it will continue to stand by the Iraqi people in their efforts towards further progress and prosperity in their country.

The meeting touched on a number of regional issues, in addition to efforts to fight terrorism within a holistic approach.

Adviser to His Majesty and Director of the Office of His Majesty Manar Dabbas, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat and General Intelligence Department Director Maj. Gen. Adnan Jundi attended the meeting.

The King also hosted a dinner in Barzani’s honour.
