King Receives Director of the Siemens Company

His Majesty king Abdullah II received on Sunday President of the Board of Directors of the German Siemens Company Volker Jung and his accompanying delegation currently on a visit to the Kingdom at an invitation by His Majesty to look into investment opportunities in the Kingdom especially in the fields of telecommunications, information technology and energy.

Jung's visit to Jordan comes to complete talks that were held with German businessmen and industrial figures during His Majesty King Abdullah's official visit to Germany last October. His Majesty affirmed Jordan's determination to continue investing through educating Jordanians to be the base for achieving economic development. He said that his aspirations to build a strong economy is based on the principles of partnership with the private sector, improving the investment climate and liberalizing trade to reflect positively on the standards of living of citizens.

The King welcomed the seriousness of the Siemens Company and other German companies to invest in Jordan.

President of Siemens who also met with the Prime Minister Ali Abul Ragheb as well as ministers of education, telecommunication, Information technology, energy and mineral resources and planning, affirmed that the Jordanian economy is going in the right direction to achieve sustainable development based on knowledge and productivity. Jung praised His Majesty King Abdullah's keenness to expand horizons of cooperation with Germany and Europe with a view to stimulate major companies to invest in Jordan's vital sectors. He also hailed plans that have been put for educational reforms in Jordan as well as Jordan's efforts to provide the relevant legislative climate for the telecommunication and information technology sector.
