King receives Canadian Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday said signing a free trade agreement with Canada will help enhance Jordan's national economy and bolster Amman's trade ties with Ottawa.



During a meeting with Canadian Minister of Labor and Housing Joseph Frank Fontana, King Abdullah stressed on the importance of accelerating procedures needed to sign such an agreement.



The King urged Canadian businessmen to benefit from investment opportunities in Jordan, particularly in information technology and housing sectors.



For his part, Fontana said the Canadian government is looking forward to enhance relations with Jordan in different spheres.



Fontana, who arrived in Amman Tuesday, also held talks with Prime Minister Faisal Fayez, Minister of Labor Amjad Majali and Minister of Public Works and Housing Raed Abu Saud.
