His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday reiterated the importance of U.S continuous support to push the peace process forward and help Palestinians and Israelis reach a just solution in line with the roadmap plan.

During a meeting with the Special Envoy for Gaza Disengagement James Wolfensohn and US Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, King Abdullah stressed that the planned Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip should be coupled with a similar move from the West Bank and resumption of peace talks.

The establishment of a geographically connected Palestinian state, King Abdullah said, forms the basis to reach a comprehensive and lasting peace.

At the meeting attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania, His Majesty King Abdullah urged the international community to back the Palestinian leadership's reform plans to build institutions capable of strengthening the Palestinian economy and easing the daily suffering of the Palestinian people.

On Iraq, King Abdullah urged international society to back Iraq in the aftermath of electing a new government. He said that the world should help the emerging government to achieve stability and security in the country.
