King meets notables from Aqaba

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday said the sense of belonging to Jordan, demonstrated through positive and practical behavior is the basis of good citizenship and the cornerstone of building and developing the country and safeguarding its accomplishments.



"Enhancing this sense of belonging is an issue that should be embodied in the behavior of every Jordanian and in all fields of life, the King stressed during a meeting with notables from Aqaba governorate on Monday.



"We are all working as one team in Jordan and I am a member of
this team," King Abdullah said. " I'm not interested in seeing my picture hoisted as much as seeing dedicated work to upgrade the country," the King added.



During the meeting held over a luncheon, King Abdullah said "we are determined to make Aqaba Special Economic Zone ASEZ a successful project and bring in more investment to the area." This is an issue of top priority and Aqaba will see a number of vital investment projects in the coming years that could contribute to improving quality of for citizens in Aqaba. However, the King said our vision of complete development in Aqaba can't be materialized in few years. It is a process that takes time and sincere efforts, the King added stressing the necessity to get local citizens involved in this process The meeting was attended by Prime Minister, King's Private Adviser, Minister of Royal Court, King's Adviser for Tribal Affairs, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Minister of Interior, and President of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Board Commissioners.
