King Leaves for Egypt

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania left Amman today heading for Cairo on a short visit to Egypt.

His Majesty will hold talks with the Egyptian President Muhammad Hosni Mubarak on the latest developments in Iraq and the Arab position towards the future of Iraq. Jordan and Egypt affirmed the importance of persevering the unity of Iraqi territories and stressed the need to ensure that the Iraqi people alone determine their future away from foreign influence.

The two leaders will also discuss the situation on the Palestinian territories and the need to re-launch negotiations between and the Palestinians and Israelis and the implementation of the peace road map.

Their Majesties are accompanied by the Prime Minister Mr. Ali Abul Ragheb, Minister of the Royal Hashemite Court Mr. Faisal Fayez, Foreign Minister Mr. Marwan Muasher and the advisor at the Royal Hashemite Court Mr. Farouk Qasrawi.
