King Holds Talks In Saudi Arabia

His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed Jordan's supports to efforts of the Saudi Government to fight terrorism, and called for a unified Arab and Islamic stance to fight this phenomenon, which contradicts the values of Islam as well as Arab and Islamic norms.



During talks in Jeddah with the Saudi Monarch King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, His Majesty condemned the recent terrorist acts in Saudi Arabia, which claimed the lives of innocent civilians.



Discussions also covered cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia.



His Majesty highly valued the Saudi decision to provide an oil grant to Jordan to enable it to continue its developmental plans and programs.



Other topics for discussion included the latest developments in Palestine and Iraq.



The two sides underlined the importance of ending the Israeli escalation policy against the Palestinians through a serious and practical international move as well as pushing the peace process forward.



They stressed the need for a full Israeli withdrawal from all Palestinians lands that would lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.



On Iraq, the two sides asserted the need to give the Iraqis full sovereignty and preserve the unity of the Iraqi lands and peoples.



The meetings were attended on the Jordanian side by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi Bin Mohammad, His Majesty's special advisor, Prime Minister Faisal Al Fayez a number of ministers and the Jordanian ambassador in Riyadh.



on the Saudi side, they were attended by Deputy Defense Minister, Prince Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Aziz, Minister of Municipal Affairs, Mit'eb bin Abdul Aziz and other high ranking officials.



King Abdullah had earlier arrived in Jeddah on a brief visit to Saudi Arabia, after which he departed for Kuwait where he will hold talks with the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Jabir Al Ahmad Al Sabah on bilateral ties.
