King Heads a Meeting for the Government's Economic Team

His Majesty King Abdullah II said that Jordan should be fully ready to deal with formidable development in telecommunication sector and to be a starting point for the electronic education revolution in the region.

His Majesty who chaired a meeting at the prime Ministry for the economic ministerial team in the presence of Prime Minister Ali Abul Ragheb and Chief of the Royal Court Fayez Tarawneh, affirmed the importance of continuing work to develop the infrastructure and prepare electronic school curricula with a view to benefit from the world telecommunication revolution and make Jordan a model for the Arab region in this field.

Minister of telecommunications and Information Technology Dr. Fawwaz Zu'bi briefed King Abdullah on policies that should be adopted to enable Jordan to fulfill requirements of companies willing to invest in this vital sector. "This is important for creating job opportunities and benefiting from the qualified Jordanian human resources in this field," the minister said.

The prime minister also presented a briefing on plans, programs and projects being carried out by the government.

King Abdullah affirmed support to steps that the government is taking to develop the national economy.
