King Abdullah Chairs Cabinet Assessment Meeting

His Majesty King Abdullah II chaired on Wednesday the Ministers Council's evaluation session, in which he listened to a briefing by Prime Minister Faisal Fayez on what has been and hasn't been achieved by his government during last year on the basis of what has been contained in the Designation Letter.



His Majesty King Abdullah has affirmed that government policies and programs should reflect positively on the citizens' lives particularly with regard to poverty, unemployment, political and socio-economic development, human resources development, investment and administrative reform cases.



"Our confidence in the future is great, and our top priorities at this stage is to provide citizens with a decent life, the King said calling the government to work in team spirit.



The Premier has reviewed the work of the government during the last year the top of which is human resources development, health care, poverty combating, tourism, investment, judicial upgrading, government reformations and political development.



Fayez noted that there are issues left unaccomplished such as restructuring of Higher Education, programs of technical and vocational training to go in hand with economic-based on knowledge in addition to crystallizing general policy to combat poverty. He also added that the government will review the legislation related to investment.
