King Abdullah and Spanish King Discuss Regional Developments

His Majesty King Abdullah II discussed on Tuesday with King Juan Carlos of Spain in Madrid, where he arrived on Tuesday for a few- hour visit, the friendly bilateral relations as well as the latest developments in the region.



During the meeting, which included a lunch banquet that was attended by Their Majesties Queen Rania Al Abdullah and Queen Sofia, King Abdullah briefed the Spanish monarch on the diplomatic efforts being exerted by Jordan with the international parties to speed up the implementation of the roadmap.



The King, who will also visit France on Tuesday, stressed the importance of the European Union's contribution to supporting efforts that aim at stopping violent actions and returning to peace.



Talks also covered the Iraqi situations in light of the current international discussions on the issuance of a Security Council resolution concerning the international community's participation in establishing peace in Iraq.



Discussions also touched on a number of bilateral issues as well as scopes of cooperation between the two countries.
