A Royal Decree was issued on Tuesday accepting the resignation of Prime Minister Faisal Fayez's government.

In a letter sent to Fayez, His Majesty King Abdullah expressed appreciation for Fayez's efforts since the inception of his government in Oct. 23, 2003.

“You and your colleagues have worked hard and sincerely to realize the noble objectives we are trying to achieve through the plans and programs envisaged in our vision to build a modern Jordan," King Abdullah said in his letter.

"I accept your letter of the resignation which contains the traits I have known in you: Your honesty, your great sense of responsibility... and your readiness for sacrifice," the King said.

"I affirm my deep proud in you and your colleagues who shared you the responsibility," His Majesty added.

Fayez, who was appointed on Tuesday as the Royal Court Chief, said in his resignation letter that he worked diligently with his colleagues to implement His Majesty's vision through focusing on citizens as the centre of the comprehensive development plans.
