King Abdullah II urges on India and Pakistan for dialogue
Amman, 28 May 2002

His Majesty King Abdullah II urged India and Pakistan to use dialogue and solve their disputes by peaceful means, in order to avoid a military confrontation that would shake stability in the Indian subcontinent.

In two letters he sent to Pakistani President Perviz Musharaf and Indian Prime Minister Ital Bihari Fajpaee, His Majesty pointed out to the necessity to touch on the international initiatives aiming at defusing tension and ending military escalation on the two countries' borders.

His Majesty stressed that interrupting stability and security of the Indian subcontinent will affect world peace and security, due to the international weigh and the political and geographical position India and Pakistan enjoy.

Chief of the Royal Court Fayez Tarwneh, Tuesday received ambassadors of India and Pakistan and handed them His Majesty's letters to the two leaders.
