Four relief Planes to Depart for Iran Upon His Majesty's Directives
Amman, 27 December 2003

In implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah's directives to help victims of the earthquake that hit Iran yesterday, four Jordanian relief planes will head for Iran on Monday.

Director of the Royal Medical Services, Major General Munaf Hijazi, said that three planes are laden with various medical equipments and medicine to establish a field hospital that is fit to 25 beds and includes various medical specialties. "The fourth plane will carry aid that includes tents, blankets, food stuffs and medical equipments," he added.

He affirmed readiness of the RMS to translate the Hashemite humanitarian gesture to establish the hospital immediately and sent it to Iran to treat the injured of the earthquake and ease their suffering.

The RMS is currently taking part in humanitarian and peace keeping mission through field hospital in Afghanistan, Iraq, Sierra Leon and Liberia, in addition to this field hospital which will depart for Iran next Monday.
