King and President Mubarak to Inaugurate Gas Pipeline
Amman, 26 July 2003



His Majesty King Abdullah and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak will inaugurate on Sunday the gas pipeline Project stretches from Aqaba to Al Areesh.

His Majesty King Abdullah will arrive in Taba tomorrow morning where he will be received by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and other Egyptian senior officials.

After the inauguration of the project, the Egyptian Gas will flow into the Kingdome through a line into Aqaba Thermal power Station, and expected to extend to Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and South Europe.

Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon had agreed to establish this project which is called Arab Gas Pipeline. The four countries had agreed to establish the Arab Gas Organization to coordinate amongst the companies responsible for the Pipeline project.
