National reform drive proceeds according to clear-cut roadmap - King
Amman, 6 April 2014



His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Sunday, said the national comprehensive reform drive is proceeding according to a clear roadmap and is making non-stop and well-thought-of progress.

The King emphasized that deepening grassroots' participation in the decision-making process is at the forefront of reform priorities. His Majesty told a meeting with members of the Al Nahda parliamentary bloc that active blocs can help the executive authority draw policies and identify needed development projects. King stressed the importance of partnership between the legislative and executive powers in dealing with the various challenges facing the Kingdom.

His Majesty explained that current challenges require active participatory role by the parliament with the various public and private sectors institutions.

The meeting also touched on the decentralization approach in the governorates to boost citizens' participation in the decision-making process to come up with policies that help in the development of their communities.
