King invited to Africa-Arab summit in Kuwait
Amman, 26 August 2013

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received an invitation from the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, to attend the third African-Arab summit, scheduled to take place in November in Kuwait.

The invitation was delivered to King Abdullah during his meeting with Hamad Saleh Al Duaij, Kuwait’s ambassador to Jordan. The King stressed the importance of ensuring the success of the summit and the vital contributions it provides to boost joint Arab-African action.

His Majesty expressed pride in the brotherly relations between Jordan and Kuwait and emphasised Jordan’s commitment to fostering ties across all fields in a manner that serves the best interests of both countries.

During the meeting, which was also attended by His Majesty’s Office Director Imad Fakhoury, Duaij conveyed greetings from the emir of Kuwait to the King, renewing his country’s commitment to increasing strategic cooperation between the two countries.

Held under the theme “Partners in Development and Investment”, the summit will focus on six areas of priority: political and peace security, food security, trade and investment, private sector development, development of infrastructure and enhancing the role of women in development, according to web sources.

The summit is organised by the African Union Commission, the Arab League and Kuwait.
