Jordan, UAE discuss prospects of regional stability, better ties

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday held talks with UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on bilateral ties and the latest regional and international developments, especially in Syria.
The two leaders voiced their appreciation for the strong ties between both countries and their commitment to improving them at all levels to best serve mutual interests.
They called for further cooperation among Arab countries to protect their strategic interests, stressing the need to continue coordination to boost joint Arab action.
Discussions also covered the latest developments in the Middle East and means to resolve Syria’s crisis and end the suffering of its people.
King Abdullah cited Jordan’s efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to Syrian refugees, in addition to the role of the UAE’s field hospital and other relief services in the Zaatari Refugee Camp.
The two leaders discussed means to bring about a just and comprehensive peace to achieve the legitimate rights of the Palestinians according to the two-state solution, which they described as the sole way to realise security and stability in the entire region.
Talks also covered the outcome of the donor countries’ conference that was held recently in Kuwait to support Syrians.
The UAE president held a lunch banquet in honour of His Majesty and his accompanying delegation.
