King wraps up Saudi Arabia visit
Amman, 15 August 2012

His Majesty King Abdullah returned home on Wednesday after a visit to Saudi Arabia, where he performed Umra (the lesser pilgrimage) and participated in the extraordinary summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
In his remarks at the summit, King Abdullah noted to the unprecedented changes and transformations in the Islamic world, stressing that cooperation between Islamic countries is the only way to face these changes.
The King voiced his appreciation and support for Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz’s initiative to establish a Riyadh-based centre for dialogue between Islamic schools of theology and jurisprudence.
His Majesty said the initiative will effectively contribute in enhancing Islamic solidarity and unify Muslims in addressing various challenges.
On the sidelines of the summit, the King met with Bahraini King Hamad Bin Issa Al Khalifa, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki and Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
During the meetings, talks focused on bilateral ties and regional developments.
