His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday stressed the need for ministers and officials to conduct field visits to various areas to become acquainted with people’s needs and improve the quality of services provided to them during Ramadan.

Chairing part of a Cabinet session, King Abdullah stressed the need to strengthen monitoring mechanisms on prices and ensure the availability of basic items at reasonable prices during the holy month.

The King called for radical solutions to water cuts in various parts of the Kingdom and to take immediate measures to meet people’s demands.

The King also highlighted the challenges facing the water sector during summer, stressing the need to deal with mismanagement and calling on everyone to perform their duties to the fullest to serve the interest of the Kingdom and its people.

On Syria, His Majesty said that he is satisfied with measures taken on the borders, stressing that “Our duty is to protect our citizens in Jordan, but at the same time, we open our doors to the Syrian brothers, and I am very optimistic that we are going in the right direction.”

In a separate meeting with the Ministers of Interior, Social Development and Health, His Majesty was briefed on the demands of orphans, and gave instructions to follow up on their plight and to take the necessary measures that would preserve their dignity.
