His Majesty King Abdullah II said his current visit to Germany aims in the first place at strengthening economic and social relations between the two countries to rise up to the level of the close political ties existing between them for decades.

His Majesty King Abdullah II left Amman for Berlin on a three-day visit to Germany where will hold talks with German President Johannes Rau, Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and other senior officials. The talks are expected to focus on bilateral ties, ways of promoting cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields, the current situation in the Middle East and other issues of common interest.

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania started a three-day state visit to Germany on Monday upon an invitation from German President Johannes Rau. During the visit King Abdullah II and the accompanying delegation will hold talks with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and other senior officials on ways of promoting bilateral ties in political, economic and cultural spheres. The talks will also cover the current situation in the Middle East including the Palestinian and Iraqi issues.

His Majesty King Abdullah II and French President Jacques Chirac held talks on Sunday focusing on ways to activate Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, the Iraqi crisis and on bilateral relations.
His Majesty king Abdullah II warned Saturday that a US military strike on Iraq could weaken international efforts to combat terrorism worldwide. In an interview with AFP conducted by Director of the AFP Office in Amman Randa Habib, on the eve of a visit to Jordan by French President Jacques Chirac, the King stressed that France could play a key role for a settlement to the Middle East and Iraqi crises.

His Majesty King Abdullah II held talks on Thursday with the Romanian President Ion Elesico in Aqaba. The talks focused on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries in economic and cultural fields in addition to efforts being exerted to revive the Middle East peace process.
