Education has consistently been a top priority of Jordan's leadership. Today, the country has a developed national education infrastructure capable of providing education for all. King Abdullah II has built upon this infrastructure by upgrading the quality of education and making sure that all Jordan's students are ready and able to both lead Jordan's future development and to compete for the best jobs in the world's rapidly-expanding knowledge economies.
The enhancement of Jordan's educational system has focused on transformation of the learning process through the introduction of information communications technology (ICT), and upgrading teacher training and skills. King Abdullah has made support for the nation's teachers a special priority, with initiatives to provide housing and other incentives for them, while other education-related initiatives like school meals and vitamin supplement programmes and winter coat distributions have helped enhance the learning environment for many students.
